Celebrate the incredible Americana music community during AMERICANAFEST, the annual music festival and conference, taking place in September in Nashville, TN.
For over 20 years now, the Americana community has gathered in Music City for music discovery, industry insight, quality hangs and unforgettable times in over 70 venues. AMERICANAFEST brings together legendary artists, the next generation of rising stars and industry professionals for five days of music and education.
Daytime conference activities and sessions are held at our host hotel, The Westin Nashville. Evening showcases are held at a host of prestigious music venues throughout the city.
Sounds Australia produces a series of showcasing events, including THE AUSSIE BBQ, A Taste Of Australia, and Australiana at the Bluebird Cafe.
In the spirit of collaboration and kinship which makes the Americana scene so vibrant, Sounds Australia hosts a series of “in the round” sets at the Bluebird Cafe on the opening night of AMERICANAFEST. Across four one-hour sets, three Australian artists will share the stage at each time, swapping stories and songs at one of Nashville’s most iconic and revered venues.
A Taste Of Australia showcase runs in our “Two For The Showcase” style, giving each act a two-song performance (approximately 10 minute sets with a five minute change over in-between).
THE AUSSIE BBQ Nashville remains the largest showcase of Australian Americana artists in North America. Entry to the event is free, allowing delegates and the people of Nashville an opportunity to witness some of Australia’s best Americana talent. Not just a great showcase name, THE AUSSIE BBQ will feature actual Australian BBQ, so come early and grab yourself some free food. Expect some special surprises at this showcase too.
