SOUNDS AUSTRALIA is proud to announce the launch of the SOUNDS AUSTRALIA smartphone app, a one stop shop to discover Australian artists and industry active at international music conferences around the world.
Available now for iOS and Android devices, the app arrives just in time for renowned international events South by Southwest (SXSW) and Canadian Music Week.
The SOUNDS AUSTRALIA app has been designed to function as a reference and discovery tool for users looking for new Australian music, business opportunities, and showcase information on exporting Australian artists and industry working at and around international music conferences.
Millie Millgate, Executive Producer SOUNDS AUSTRALIA says – “The launch of the app is a great leap forward for SOUNDS AUSTRALIA. We have to be able to keep up with technological advances and we are constantly trying to find better ways to make it easier for the international music industry, media and audiences to gain access to Australian artists and music businesses. This app gives people that information, directly to their smartphone.”
Conferences and events to be covered by the Sounds Australia app include MIDEM, SXSW, Canadian Music Week, Liverpool Sound City, The Great Escape, Folk Alliance, Americana, CMJ, Music Matters (Singapore), Reeperbahn Festival, Nokia Music Connects (Mumbai) and satellite shows in Los Angeles, New York, London, Berlin, Manchester, Paris, Delhi and Bangalore.
Glenn Dickie, Export Music Producer adds – “What goes on at places like South by Southwest no longer has to stay there. The time of collecting thousands of business cards is over. This app allows you to build and maintain an ever expanding database of Australians who are performing and doing business outside of Australia. From showcase performances to networking events, if Australians are active in or around an international music conference, you’ll be able to find them on the SOUNDS AUSTRALIA app.”
The app features comprehensive profiles on Australian artists and industry who are active in export markets, and includes bios, contact details, social networks, buy links and video and audio streaming. It allows the user to prioritise and schedule showcase performance times, and includes a map function to locate venues and provide directions to see Australian artists perform.
The SOUNDS AUSTRALIA smartphone app is the perfect tool to help create networking opportunities for the international music industry looking to do business with the Australian music industry.
The SOUNDS AUSTRALIA app is available now on the App Store and Google Play.
