“Seemingly hewn from Bellarine Peninsula basalt, Seeckts’ vocal is imbued with all the heartworn grit of Deer Tick’s John McCauley, grounding an album that’s alternately heaving, shivering and jangling with feeling.” – Gareth Hipwell (Country Update Magazine)
Nathan Seeckts is a powerful singer songwriter who effortlessly fuses the sounds of Americana, folk, country & blues delivered with a commanding voice that is equal parts gravel & passion. His songs feature intricate, heartfelt storytelling that echo loudly and honestly from personal experience. Taking inspiration from the songbooks of artists including Bruce Springsteen, Jason Isbell, Lucero & Steve Earle, his songs could find him comfortably at home in any bar from Melbourne to Memphis.
2019 has seen Seeckts take the Australian country music scene by storm, starting in January with the release of ‘Old Blood’, the first taste from his long-awaited debut album The Heart Of The City. The single was instantly picked up for play by Double J, Twang on RRR, ABC Evenings, as well as Acid Country and 5 Feet High & Rising on PBS. It was added to rotation on ABC Country in February, where it remained one of the top 10 most played songs on the station for the next 3 months. ‘Old Blood’ was featured on Saving Country Music’s Top 25 Playlist for March, with Seeckts being recognised as an artist to watch in 2019. The film clip for ‘Three Soldiers’, the latest single from the album, was featured on Memphis’s DittyTV recently, with host Amy Wright praising Seeckts’ vocal power and bold song writing.
Seeckts shows no sign of slowing down either, with more tour dates planned, including a trip to the Nashville in September to showcase at AMERICANAFEST. A recipient of this year’s Queenscliff Music Festival’s Emerging Artist Grant, Seeckts has once again been invited to play at the festival in November, after wowing crowds in 2018.
