“The warmth in your songwriting is so endearing Harper. It’s instantly familiar and bright as day. I’ve got more than just a soft spot for this every time I hear it.” – Claire Mooney (triple j)
Singer-songwriter Harper Bloom is a Perth-born, Melbourne-based artist, who writes acoustic-electro-pop vignettes of vulnerability, same-sex love, and self-acceptance. Her singles “Mary” and “Walk My Way”, from her forthcoming EP, are the result of her team-up with prolific Australian producer Benjamin McCarthy (Gordi, Alex the Astronaut, G-Flip, Thelma Plum), who has enhanced Bloom’s pared-back acoustic songs with electro-pop flourishes.
Since moving to Melbourne mid-2019, Bloom has embedded herself in the local live music scene, frequently performing on stages across the city and forming her full band. Her recently released debut single “Mary” and follow up single “Walk My Way”, have received overwhelming acclaim from media and radio. Both singles were played across Triple J and Triple J Unearthed, with “Walk My Way” added to high rotation on triple j. “Walk My Way” hit the top 10 most played track on the station, with listeners pushing the track into the top 80 of the Shazam Australia Charts. Bloom was also made Feature Artist on triple j and selected as a BIGSOUND50 artist for 2020.
