“HANDSOME crystallises another perfectly portioned slice of tomboy pop.” – The Line of Best Fit
HANDSOME is an artist making tomboy pop and brooding electronica, based in Australia. The bold and new sounds announce a celebration of self-expression and carefree creativity, but is still accompanied by obsessive perfection.
HANDSOME introduced herself in late 2017 with her debut single ‘Late Night Ball Game (feat. Joyride)’, an indie queer anthem that struck a chord with many. The song extended a feeling of hope when people needed it most, and it soared past 100,000 plays in its first fortnight on Spotify, which indicated the songs impact worldwide.
HANDSOME followed up in early 2018 with her second single ‘Save Some Love’. Described by LNWY as “stunningly vulnerable” and Pilerats as “elegant, uplifting and jaw dropping”, the song was premiered on triple j, and found itself championed by community radio across Australia, officially added to Double J, and spun on KEXP (Seattle). HANDSOME later joined forces with Kitsuné (France/Japan) to re-release ‘Save Some Love’ to a new audiences and territories.
In the midst of selling out headline shows and merchandise on the road, HANDSOME released her debut EP NO HAT NO PLAY, on September 21st, 2018. With incredible streaming support for a debut release, songs were featured on some of the biggest playlists worldwide, including New Music Fridays in the US, AUS/NZ and in the UK.
A little time off writing saw the newest edition fly out of the gates with ‘Delete You’, a sad dance banger for the ex-lovers out there.
