In a world craving transparency, Didirri captivates his peers with his magnetic charisma and honest approach to songwriting. His music openly explores subjects, questions and themes many avoid.
His critically acclaimed debut EP Measurements (2018) introduced listeners to a hopeful, assured artist who wrote songs for lovers and overthinkers. In six heartrending tracks, Didirri explored love and loss – to feel deeply before resolving the pain. If Measurements was walking through the dark tunnel of life, two years later Didirri holds our hand and gently leads us towards the light at the end in his follow up effort Sold for Sale.
Didirri Peters grew up in the coastal Australian countryside, in the town of Warrnambool. His candid storytelling comes from wanting to face the truth, however beautiful or confronting. His poetic lyricism began as a private conversation that now brings hope to his listeners. The son of a painter and children’s singer-songwriter, his first time on the road touring was quite young, as a circus performer. He learned to play music on the piano first and later he picked up a guitar in earnest. Taking his writing cues from family, philosophers, comedians, friends and lovers, Didirri reveals himself using words and music with unparalleled openness.
Sold for Sale EP also includes three tracks delivered to fans early. The sage “Don’t fight with what you’re fighting for”, the driving “Blue Mood Rising” which effortlessly displays Didirri’s vocal prowess and “Raw Stuff”, the track that put him on the world stage for Eurovision: Australia Decides. Like Measurements, Sold for Sale is music of heartbreak and hope … it’s music for pondering, it’s music to make you realise you’re not alone, and, foremostly, it is music for lovers and overthinkers.
