Yalanji Woman of Song, Deline Briscoe is an internationally acclaimed vocalist and artist who has been fine tuning her songwriting and performance skills for 2 decades, since 2009 Deline has toured worldwide as a principal artist with one of Australia’s leading Performing Arts Companies “Black Arm Band” and “Mission songs Project”. International Yalanji woman of song Deline launched her stunning solo debut album, Wawu in 2018 since then Wawu has had success hitting #1 in the USA, Roots Music Report, World Music Album Charts 2020.
Since then Deline has toured Wawu and has featured at Australia’s largest music export market Bigsound (2019) and WOMADelaide (2020). Wawu tracks have featured on National playlist all over the Australian Radio Networks. Her band usually tours with a unique combination of musicians with master pacific percussionist, Airileke (Yothu Yindi), and Jamaican jazz pianist, Stephen Maxwell (Jimmy Cliff). The Trio brings powerful tasteful set with percussive bite, blues grit and jazz Infused vocals. The Live show interweave Wungkabadi (Yalanji Traditonal song) with Jazz Roots Hip-Hop driven by her arrangement of Bama (First Nations) Harmonies arranged, a unique sound to the Far North QLD region.
