“I love how the song feels like it’s playing inside your head and nowhere else.” – Richard Kingsmill (triple j)
Daggy Man is the solo moniker of singer/songwriter Thomas Calder.
What began as a side project from Calder’s other project The Trouble With Templeton, Daggy Man was a chance to express another side of Calder’s songwriting, and explore more personal topics. As things are wont to do, the project grew into something much bigger, resulting in a debut album, A Lazy Kind Of Pain.
The songs are “somewhat of a scrapbook, constructed from memories that may or may not be entirely accurate”.
First single ‘Little Whip’ has amassed over 3 million streams on Spotify to date alone, with total streams of all songs well above 5 million, and the project has received continued support from Australian press including Rolling Stone, the AU Review, and radio play and support for numerous singles from triple j, Double J and triple j Unearthed.
