Pairing a poetic lyrical sense with undeniable melodies that are instantly caught in your mind, Calan Mai’s refreshing take on indie folk has garnered him spots on stage with Band of Horses, Frances, Augustana, and Will Johnson. Clash Magazine calls his work “Gorgeous, folk-hewn songwriting with an electronic flourish” and his songs have enjoyed plays on BBC Introducing, BBC Radio 6, and Australia’s Triple J.
After a two year writing and recording sojourn in the UK, Calan Mai returned to his native Gold Coast to finish work on his first album due out in 2018. Recently joining forces with an American team, he’s beyond excited for his first US performances and release.
