Caiti Baker, daughter of an acclaimed Blues and Soul musician and musicologist, released her debut album ZINC in October 2018 to rave reviews and multiple 4 star ratings.
On ZINC, her father’s guitar and harmonica playing features as a sample-driven-theme that’s entwined with hip hop beats, R&B + New Jack Swing inspired vocal harmonies, genre-bending arrangements and powerfully dynamic vocals all the while delivering lyrics about identity, relationships, empowerment, love and social politics.
As a live performer, Caiti has played to audiences a plenty at renown Australian Festivals such as Byron Bay Blues Fest, Womadelaide, Wangaratta Festival of Jazz and Blues, Queenscliff Music Festival, Falls Festival plus more. Caiti has supporting International Acts such as Booker T (US) and Son Little (US) as well as Australian acts such as Gurrumul, Guy Sebastian and Dan Sultan.
Caiti has won three awards in the NT Song of the Year Awards (2017), also taking out the title gong. She won best Live Performer in the NT for the National Live Music Awards (2017) and the AU. Review named her Soul and R&B Artist of the Year 2017. She is a long time collaborator of Briggs (multi award winning artist and CEO of Bad Apples Music) and A.B. Original (the ARIA and APRA Award winning rap duo), not only writing with but performing alongside on national tours and festival spots.
