In just under two weeks, the East Coast Music Association (ECMA) will present East Coast Music Week in Charlottetown on Prince Edward Island, Canada (sources tell me this is where Anne of Green Gables went to school, if you know, you’re in to that kind of thing). The ECMAs attracts industry professionals, talent buyers, media and record labels from around the globe.
SOUNDS AUSTRALIA heads back to Canada (after just unpacking our bags from the most recent jaunt there for CMW) to do it all again; an Aussie panel as well as showcases from some our fairest maidens means the Canadians will be well versed in all things Australian by the end of the week. Down Under? Definitely! An Australian Spotlight on the Beat of Business puts Josh Daly (Harbour), Chloe Goodyear (Woodford Festival), Geoff Trio (Code One/Brass Monkey) and Rob Scott (Sandcastle Music) on a panel moderated by SOUNDS AUSTRALIA’s own Millie Millgate. It all goes down on Thursday, April 14th, 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm.
Abbe May and Ashleigh Mannix will both be showcasing as part of the event – Abbe will be performing on Friday, April 15th at the Delta Ballroom from 2:00pm and Ashleigh plays the same time and place on Thursday, April 14th.
Since its inception in 1989, the ECMA Event has become a national and international event. The components of this event have evolved to become the most comprehensive and exciting event in Atlantic Canada. It is the ECMA’s mission to foster, develop, promote and celebrate East Coast Music and its artists locally, regionally, nationally and internationally (a bit like SOUNDS AUSTRALIA, only in a much colder climate, and everyone sounds Canadian).
